Ahmed Fahmi
Egyptian Cinema’s Prince Charming
How do you prepare for Ramadan?
If I don’t have work, I love being at home. Though, I might go to the gym after Iftar. As for more concrete preparations, the fanous is a must, as well as some Ramadanic decoration touches.
What are the Ramadanic traditions that you love the most?
I love the part right before the Iftar; sitting in the garden, the smell of food being cooked, and listening to the Quran before the Maghreb prayer. The kind of mood you usually experience alone when surrounded by nothing but the aroma and the verses.
Do you prefer cooking or dining out? (Iftar/ Sohour)
I love being home. I am the kind of person that can eat anything, I don’t have specifies or favorites, especially in Ramadan. I don’t like the idea of going out for Sohoor, only sometimes, but I don’t like making it the usual.
What are the foods and beverages that you cannot enjoy Ramadan without?
I love qatayef and Konafa with cream and mango; I have a sweet tooth for desserts specifically.
What are the “Musalsalat” that you are addicted to in Ramadan?
Comedies like “El Kebeir” and hidden camera shows in general, especially in Ramadan. The lighter the better.
Do you ever watch your own work?
Yes, I do watch my work, but I separate between my role as an actor and who I am in real life. I try to enjoy the work as a whole, not only the parts that I worked on.
Are you part taking in any TV series/radio this Ramadan?
Yes, I worked on a series called “El Mizan” (The Scale) with Ghada Adel, Bassel El Khayat, Mohamed Farrag, and Shokry Fawaz directed by Ahmed Khaled and produced by Tarek el Ganainy.
What are 3 things that must be in your bag or car at all times?
Charger for my phone, speakers (not earphones) for if I want to listen to music at work, and my rings! I always have them with me in my bag.
If stranded on an island what are 3 items you must have?
PlayStation, piano or guitar and a fishing hook. I love fishing.
What are 3 products do you love the most for this summer season? (In Technology, Cologne, and Cars)
For technology: An IPhone, as for Cologne: Happy Clinique has been my cologne for over 11 years now. I never change it, it’s my all-time favourite. As for cars, I love four-wheel drives; my dream car is the Range Rover.
Anything you would like to share with our readers.
I am always very happy from the feedback I receive from my fans. And if my performance is improved, they always let me know. I always read and reply to their comments on Twitter. I also always urge them to let me know if anything needs to be improved on my part, as their opinions are what matter to me the most.
