According to the number of destinations passports’ holders are allowed to access without an earlier visa, the Japanese citizens enjoy a visa-free entry to 191 points of disembarkation and the Singaporeans to 190 . Worth mentioning is that according to the 2019’s ranking , Japan and Singapore shared a joint first place with a visa-free access to 189 countries and territories.

On the other side, Afghanistan came at the very end of the 2020’s list, acquiring the 107th place with 26 countries visa-free. Along with Norway, Greece, Belgium, and the US, the UK shared the eighth place; the citizens of each can pass the demarcation of 184 lands. There is no doubt that Brexit impacted the ranking of the UK whose passport was the world’s most powerful in 2013, 2014, and 2015; afterward, the British passport dropped reaching the sixth place in 2019.

The 2020’s global ranking of the most powerful passports

1. Japan – visa-free access to 191 destinations

2. Singapore – 190

3. Germany and South Korea – 189

4. Finland and Italy – 188

5. Denmark, Luxembourg, and Spain – 187

6. France and Sweden – 186

7. Austria, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, and Switzerland – 185

8. Belgium, Greece, Norway, UK, and US – 184

9. Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Malta, and New Zealand – 183

10. Hungary, Lithuania, and Slovakia – 181

11. Iceland, Latvia, and Slovenia – 180

12. Estonia – 179

13. Liechtenstein and Malaysia – 178

14. Poland – 176

15. Monaco – 175

16. Chile and Cyprus – 174

17. Romania – 172

18. Bulgaria and the UAE – 171

19. Argentina and Brazil – 170

20. Croatia and Hong Kong – 169

21. San Marino – 168

22. Andorra – 167

23. Brunei – 166

24. Barbados – 160

The Henley Passport Index, the only passport index based on exclusive data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA),

[19

post-7087","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-lifestyle
