Partial Lockdown Continues During Ramadan

A year after another, we impatiently wait Ramadan. During the holy month, families and friends gather to celebrate such a special occasion. Unfortunately, this year’s gathering is going to be limited due to the dramatic outbreak of COVID-19.

In this regard, the Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly has just announced the curfew hours and the available services through the Hegirian month. Starting from tomorrow, the 1st of Ramadan/24th April, the partial lockdown is going to begin from 21:00 and end at 06:00 of the next day. Commercial centers and stores will remain open till 17:00.

He also added that the government, in cooperation with the  Ministery of the Interior, will commence bringing back as of the next week some of the essential judicial and traffic services, such as the permission of licensing new vehicles.

As for the restaurants, food delivery is on hand. Also, people are only allowed to get their orders from the eateries and leave in order to prevent the stay of many persons at the same place for long.

Madbouly added that they are following-up on the situation and depending on the updates, these decisions are to be modified.

Many of us would have loved to enjoy Ramadan as we are used to every year, but also a lot of people are aware that these are necessary actions to tackle the novel virus. Let’s see how will we get creative this time and rejoice Ramdan differently!
