The Founder of Temraza Takes Over International Runways

With killer designs that have made it to international runways, Temraza has redefined luxury haute couture, beautifully combining her unique experience and personal touch with contemporary trends and the demands of the fashion market. We have spoken to the founder and mastermind behind the brand, Farida Temraz, and she told us a bit about herself, how she defines success, and how she got started.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am the founder and Creative Director of Temraza Haute Couture. I love fashion; it’s my passion.

Tell us about your journey in the business field?

I love to combine practical and educational strategies, and I was thankfully able to get my master’s degree in Fashion Communication at the AUC, studying the kinds of topics that not everyone is familiar with like body shapes and fashion psychology. I was able to be a part of a lot of leadership programs; one of them was by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the other by the Department of State. I was also honoured to be chosen as the North African director at the Council of International Fashion Designers. I consider education as my main edge and tool in the fashion field. I also teach fashion as a part of the ‘Temraza Fashion Studio’ school at the AUC.

What are your responsibilities in your current position?

I am the founder and Creative Director of Temraza Haute Couture. I basically have to be on top of everything — from client satisfaction, designs, and the finalising process, to quality checks, supervising employees, marketing, and everything else.

How does your work impact your personal life?

It’s definitely taking a lot of my personal life, but I love and enjoy it so that’s the most important thing to me. I am actually totally passionate about it, so it brings the best out of me. I also have an understanding husband who loves my job!

How do you define success?

It’s all about persistence and professionalism.

What’s your superwoman advice to our readers?

Always dream big to achieve big things, and work accordingly. Never give up. Always love what you do, and if you stop loving what you do, try to change that back. Also, being able to regulate work-life balance is the real meaning of being a superwoman.

Define a great leader. What are some traits you think great leaders possess?

He/she should definitely be organised, passionate, persistent, and powerful. They should have great influence; and they should plan and implement well.

What are some strategies that can help women achieve a more prominent role in their organisations?

Think out of the box, and write down a to-do-list every morning.
