What characteristics and values do you attempt to teach your female students?

Respect, strength, security, connection, intimacy, femininity.

What do you believe makes newcomers reluctant to join?

I wouldn't know, I only meet those who join us!

Why do pole fitness, when you could go to the gym or join a fitness group (i.e. Crossfit, etc)

Simply because it's FUN, you are so caught up in enjoying the activity that you almost forget it's a form of exercise!

What is the difference between pole dancing and, your sport, pole fitness?

Pole Fitness is an acrobatic art and sport; where as pole dancing is a sensual and seductive dance.

What has been your major obstacle operating a pole fitness studio in Egypt?

The major difficulty for operating the studio in Egypt was the constant re-scheduling and cancellations. However, this is no longer an issue as we have now adopted an online booking platform which is very user friendly and much more convinient for both our members and the studio!

What characteristics and values does pole fitness teach female students?

It is a mental challenge. A physical challenge to believe in the ready-capabilities of one's body and a psychological challenge to let go of fear and trust oneself.

What advice would you give newcomers to the sport?

Do not be afraid, there are no fitness pre-requisites. You will be surprised by what your body can already do.

How did you discover pole fitness ? What made you take it up as a sport?

I discovered pole through university when I was studying in the UK. I was curious, and, after my first class, I had become a pole addict.

How has pole fitness impacted your life?

It has now become my life.

Where do you see Pole Fit Egypt in one year?

At the moment, I have no concrete idea, plans frequently never really go as originally planned. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see!

If you aren't managing Pole Fit Egypt, what are your hobbies?

Travelling, meeting strangers, psychology and art.

What job(s) did you hold before opening Pole Fit Egypt?

I have been working since I was 16 years old. There are various roles in my work experience, ranging from being the Children's Rights Egyptian Youth Representative for the Ministry of Family and Population, where I was the active speaker in international conferences for Children's Rights. I have had extensive experience as a brand manger and ambassador in both Egypt and the Uk for a few years. As an interior designer I have worked in Cairo and in London, at the moment I consider myself a free-lance interior designer. I re-call a summer where I worked as a baby-sitter too!

Where and what did you study for your undergraduate degree?

I studied Interior Architecture and Design at the University of Kent in the UK.

What are your main drivers?

Passion, I'll do anything for what I care for.

What are you main ambitions in life?

My one ambition is to know that before I sleep each night, I have made a difference.
