I never imagined that I would work in front of a camera... But here I am :) And still a long way to go :)
Well... Yosry Fouda spent almost all his career path as a very successful reporter in many TV channels and different countries... His last assignment was in Great Britain as 'Al-Jazzera's' office manager and main correspondent... So I guess he is the one I tried to emulate the most.
From the minute I started I was completely comfortable in front of the camera. You how certain famous reporters say they had to work to overcome their camera-shyness in the beginning , well that never was the case for me. I am totally relaxed and confident in front of the camera.
What I love is that I get to meet different kinds of people each day and get exposed to different concepts and ideas that help me know more about what I want my life to be... But this job or career is very hard to combine with a perfect social life, I mean like friends' outings or family gatherings and other stuff like that
I made lots of mistakes in different situations where I should have reacted in a different way... So I keep learning a lot each day.
We as reporters are supposed to cover different news events, but I usually go more for political and economic ones... We deliver news for the audience on the spot: from where we are and what we see on-site.
4 years ago I applied for a marketing vacancy but they wanted me as news reporter instead so I tried it for a month and I was amazed by the way I found out how it fits me perfectly.
One of the very first events I went to cover was the 'Mubarak Project for Youth Apartment Lottery'... I had an interview with a winner and my first question was unfortunately: 'What are u gonna do with it ?? Like what are you gonna do with any apartment ? 'Uh'¦live in it' '˜º
