We asked our favourite food bloggers with the most trust worthy taste buds where we should dine and what places to avoid. Here’s what they told us!

Where do you think is the finest place to dine in Cairo? Can you tell us why?


I cannot choose one favourite. I’m very proud of the many restaurants that have recently managed to change the definition of fine dining in Egypt, as well as all the exotic new locations that successfully introduced diversity and culture to Cairo’s dinning and night life. Hopefully, one day all the restaurants will have rating criteria and will become up to the quality of restaurants at five star hotels and even better.

What is your favourite: 



Appetizer: The seared Salmon from La Gondola at Sonesta.  

Main dish: I love the steak at Lucca in the Royal Maxim, and also their lamb chops. I also like the Salmon Teriyaki at Crave. 

Dessert: Tiramisu from Lucca is the best dessert anyone could as for!

Forbidden love: Macaroons from Sofitel.   

Foreign cuisine: Sushi from Yana at Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski.

Restaurant Décor: Romanov décor wins.

Drink: Baklawa from Enab Beirut and Konafa with cheese from Osmanly at Nile Kempinski.


Describe elaborately your first experience of dining in your favourite restaurant. 


I’m a Yana fanatic. The entire atmosphere of the restaurant is probably one of the most exotic I have been to. Although my favoured cuisines are Lebanese as well as Italian, yet Yana has definitely been a factor in making me more attracted towards Asian cuisine, especially their deliciously freshly made sushi! 

Can you name any restaurants you wish would open in Egypt? 



I’d like to see more fine dining locations to open other than a few hotel restaurants with high standards. 


What are foods you must avoid at all costs? why? 


I try not to consume too much sugar. It’s not solely because I try to keep fit, but sugar is generally bad for your wellbeing as well as your skin. Other than that, I just try to keep my protein intake high enough to keep up with my daily gym workouts. I’m a bit of a health-freak, you see!
